Davis sat alone on his back porch, bored out of his mind. He stared blankly at a clump of white clouds as they whisked away and left a blue sky. Soccer season didn't start until tomorrow, and his mom had gone shopping with his little brother. The neighborhood kids had all vanished on vacation to the beach together while he slept, which made him very sad for about a week until now.

Ken woke from his afternoon nap and blinked sunlight from his deep blue eyes, sitting up to stretch. He had been torchered the whole vacation withot Davis at his side as usual when his friends had mobbed him in the night and taken him away from his other half. So, he'd left early, to see his friend again. Dressing in his usual grey shirt with short sleeves and a socer on the front, he pulled on a pair of white shorts and made sure he had his crest in his pocket, tieing on his skeakers over short white socks and running to the kitchen, "I'll be back later, mom," he called into the livingroom where she sat folding laundry. "Going to see Davis." His mother jerked around, "Oh, Ken, be back for dinner!" But he was already gone.

Davis sighed and wen inside. Getting a glass of pinapple juice, he leaned against the counter sipping at it as he watched the evening news. It was almost time for him to leave for the movie Yes Man he was going to see in the dollar theatre, and he was crushed to be going to a comedy alone.

Ken stopped in front of Davis's house, staring up at the front door. The wind blew through his hair suddenly and his feet froze on the sidewalk. His legs wouldn't move. His mind went blank. He could just stare at the house, letting memories of Davis flood back to him. Helping him when he hurt his ankle, helped him with his Japanese homework; slept over his house when all his friends celebrated a champoinship, close at his side on the carpeted floor snuggled beside his sleeping bag breathing quietly as he snored. He had so missed those times. A smile breaking across his pale face, "Davis," he cried, taking off at a run up to his porch.

Davis spat out his juice and whirled around, dropping his cup on the floor with a clatter as Ken burst through his door. His face broke into a grin as he met him halfway, jumping on him and hugging him tightly, "Ken!" He shouted, spinnig his friend in circles.

Ken laughed and clung to Davis, "I'm sorry, they kidnapped me into coming! I woke up in a beach house eight in the morning!"

Davis chuckled as he smelled the fragrence of orchids, the scent he had long since gotten used to being around Ken, but missed while he was gone, and pulled back, looking into his pale face flushed from his run, "They did?! Jeez, that's horrible! Where are they? Can I kick their butts??"

Ken shook his head, catching his breath, releived to see his closest friend's face again, "No, I've come back alone. they didn't want to leave but..." He trailed off. "But I'm here! What've you been up to?"

Davis furrowed his brow, "They didn't want to leave... but what?" He asked curiously.

Ken stopped then. He knew why he'd come back early, and it wasn't because he hadn't been enjoying himself. He'd missed Davis with all his heart and the constant ache in his chest was gone. He blushed, taking a step back, "Well, I, ah, no reason!" He lifted his head a bit with a shy smile, "What've you been up to?"

Davis looked at him for a minute, but shook his head, breaknig into a grin, "Nothing! I can't play soccer alone, so I've just been lazing around!" He startled, "Oh my gosh, the movie! Wanna come see Yes Man with me? It's a comedy I've been dying to see!"

Davis laughed, "Cool!" He hooked his arm around Ken's and hugging him close, leading him out the door with a wide grin, "Then lets be off!"

Ken bushed deeply, but giggled to himself, clinging to Davis's arm. They were almost at the theatre when a blast sounded not far down the road. Ken blinked in confusion, but cried out and ducked as a fireball flew over his head. "Digimon!"

Davis looked back up after the fireball and shouted, "Run!" Gripping Ken tighter, he darted into an alleyway quickly, letting him go to peer out at a fire-spitting Floamon. "What the heck?!" Taking out his digivice, he yelled over the noise of the destruction into it, "Veemon, we need you!"

Ken fell to his knees in the alley, looking back to see two gint plant feet crash by, eyes widening. "Whats a Digimon doing here?!" He cried, taking out his own digivice, "Warmon, we have a problem!"

Cari was in the car with Yo Lee, Tye, Matt, Izzy, Cody, and her boyfriend TK as she stared out the window, quietly wondering why Ken decided to leave so early. She pictured him in her head. Strangely, he always looked very withdrawn, no matter how much fun they seemed to have together. Feeling TK take her hand, she turned to him with a shy smile, "How much longer 'til we're home?" K smiled back, "A few minutes; I can alsmot see Tokyo."

Rika looked at the street, her headphones in but nothing playing in them. She saw two guys with digimon and a fireball coming for them. "Renamon, Diamond strom." she said. Renamon attacked the digimon that caused the fireball. Candlemon. Rika started running, and ended up next to the other two boys. "You two okay?"

Ken didn't want to seem clingy, but he moved closerto Davis and stood at his side with bravado, trying not to look as confused as he felt. "Um, where did you come from?" He asked "And what is your name, if you don't mind me asking?"

Cari jumped from the van as they came across a fallen digimon, opening her diivice and sending it back into the digital world. She turned and ran for Ken and Davis, stoppnig when she saw the other girl, "Oh, did you help them?" She asked, not knowing who she was. "I'm Cari," she held out a gloved hand. "That's Davis and Ken."

Rika looked at the new girl Cari. Renamon came up behind her. "Rika, your mother will worry if we are out much longer." she said. Rika turned swiftly and her and her partner walked away.
