Davis cackled, "Yes, I am!" He said, leading the group to an escape.

Davis hopped up onto the platform under the escape hatch, helping the girls up and grinning encouragingly to everyone else, "Come on, one at a time. No need for rushing, we have plenty of time!"

rika went back when she heard renamon call to her. 'what's up renamon?" she asked. Nothing. I wanted to make sure you were safe." her digimon said.

Daivis walked up to Rika with a little girl in his arms. She was no more than four, with wavy brown hair and red rimmed blue eyes; a little white dress and matching shoes her only clothes. Her arms were around his neck and her head was in the crook of his neck. Smiling gently, Davis scuffed his sneaker on the floor, "She's too scared to climb up alone, and no one stayed back to help her."

Renamon took the little girl. "I'll take her up. you two stay here till I come back." Renamon said, disappearing towards the openeing of the cavern. Rika sat down where she was, crossing her legs like a pretzel. Her skin tingled as she looked up at Davis. She closed her eyes so he couldn't see what she was fighting with herself about doing.

Davis flopped down beside her, bending his knees to rest his elbows on them as he grinned at her, "We did good! All those tamers were saved because of us!" He looked up at the ceiling and smiled, "I wonder if the others are ok?"

"I'm sure they're fine." Rika said, opening her eyes and looking at the cave wall. she felt like she could slep for a month.

Davis looked over at her and smiled gently, "You look tired. Lets go," he said, getting up and holding out his hand for her."

Rika grabbed Davis' hand and stood up. "Alittle." she said. "How do you not look tired?" Renamon came back, jumping more then walking. "come on you two." she said, motioning for them to follow.

Davis shrugged and swept her into his arms and off her feet suddenly, carrying her effortlessly like a child after Renamon, "I dunno," he said to her suprised face. "but I have a bunch of energy left still."

Davis kissed her cheek, "Not while I'm around you can't," he teased. "I hope she didn't catch the others."

RIka shrugged. She doubted the others got caught but you never knew. 'renamon, did you see the others?" she asked, keeping her emotions in a weak hold. "No."

Davis frowned, "Can you go look for 'em, Renamon? I need to take Rika above ground."

rika began to protest at Davis' statement but renamon's paw went over her mouth. 'He has a point. you look tired so don't fight. thank you davis.' renamon said before taking off. rika pouted.

Davis grinned and hopped out of the hole and into the sunlight, walking over to a patch of grass under the shade of a tall tree and laying Rika down gently, sitting beside her, "I love your pout face," he said jokingly. "it's so cute."

Rika glared at Davis half-heartedly. ''thanks." she said sarcastically. moving quickly, before davis could do anything about it, she sat up and pressed her lips to his.

Davis blinked in suprise. He touched her cheek with warm fingertips and kissed her back, pulling her onto his lap.

Rika broke away, her breath uneven. She felt all tinglly. "That's for helping me." she said, her finger tips brushing across Davis' cheekbones and temples.

Davis felt a shiver of warmth go up his spine. He took her hand, holding it against his cheek and closing his eyes, "If that's what I get, I'd help you any day."

Rika smiled and kissed his cheek. "I'll hold you to that." she murmured.
