Heartbroken

The words slashed my heart to pieces. My mind seemed to shut down. My hearing was minimal, vision hazy. I could only think of one thing: complete sadness. My heart seemed to fall, one by one went the pieces. They seemed to fall as slowly as possible, increasing the pain. Tears slowly slid down my cheek, leaving small, dark circles of blue. My hand ended the call, stopping the voice.
I could not clear my head. He was the first. The first to listen to my problems. The first guy to ever talk to me as a friend. All those other, they spoke to me with with scron or a questioning voice. They never spoke to me like he did. Never.
I mentally slapped myself for ever believing in this. I never did want to like someone. I knew he would just hurt me later. Yet, I let myself become attached. That was my mistake. I was stupid to like him. Everything was a waste of time. Every moment, every thought, everything, was a waste of my time. I fell for him, and, in return, I receive a broken heart in the end.
But I cannot let myself be like this. I cannot just be depressed over him. Doing that will make the pain worse. Forgetting about him is impossible. Perhaps we could just be simple acquaintances. Nothing more. My life does not need to be hindered by an unpleasent memory. And never again will I encounter this. Never again.
