Davis chuckled, "Now that, suprises me." Footsteps over the hill made them both look up. A group of kids followed Koji and Takyua from before, treading the grass and smiling brightly. Davis waved, "Hey," he called. "whats up?" A bigger boy grinned and they shook hands, "I'm J.T.," he said. "who're you guys?" A little boy with big tan hat stared up at Rika, "You're tall," he commented. A blonde girl smiled at Davis, "Hey! I'm Zoey. The little one is Tommy."

The teens smiled at them, "Cool." A kid with darker hair hovered behind them, staring at the ground. Koji turned and ran up to him and began to talk as if encouraging the boy. Takuya glanced over Davis's shoulder, "Looks like your budies are up." Yo Lee, Cari, Cody, TK, and Ken introduced themselves as well and soon they were a big group of chatting couples. Davis nudged Rika, "I'll be right back." He left her to talk with Zoey and walked over to Koji and the other boy, smiling, "Hey, guys. Why're you over here?" Koji glared at him from where he perched on a low and broken stone wall beside the other kid, "We're staying out of the crowd. Why're you out here?" Davis shrugged, "Wanted to talk, I guess." Koji and his friend exchanged glances. Actually, they looked a lot alike, "Where are you guys headed after this?" Davis slid his hands into his pockets, "I don't know," he admitted. "probably home. We don't live far; as long as we can get out, we can go to our home computers." Koji fell silent. His friend tugged his jacket closed, "We haven't been home in awhile. Our family didn't have a computer, and our parents are really poor."

Rika and Zoey looked over at Davis then fell silent. "Are they always so quiet?" Rika asked, motioning over to Koli and the other boy. Zoey nodded and pulled out her digivice thing (can't remember what it was called.) Renamon sat down next to Rika, crossing her legs.

Davis frowned, "We could get you home, you know." Koji shrugged and lowered his gaze, "I really don't think we could pay for a plane ticket to North Korea," he said quietly. "but my brother and I are here to help Takuya and the others with the digimon, so we'll be ok." He smiled for the first time. A real smile, too, "By the way, this is my twin brother. Koichi." Koichi nodded at Davis, his smile identical to Koji's. Davis grinned, "That's really cool, you know? Being twins and all. I'm an older brother to a cry baby, but he's a pretty nice little brother most of the time." The three of them laughed and Veemon came up behind them, "It's almost too dark to find the portal," the digimon said. "we better get going, Davis." Davis said good-bye to the twins and wandered back to Rika, helping her up, "We have to go," he announced to everybody. "my team, move out." The groups said their farewells and parted, walking seperate ways down the grassy hillside. Davis took Rika's hand again, waving with his other until they were out of sight, "That was cool," he said as they approached the portal.

Rika smiled gentlly. "Very cool." Renamon came up behind her as they walked through the portal.

Davis felt the warmth of the digital world blow away, then fade, and the cold wind of reality caress his tanned cheeks. His hair swished around his solemn face, the moon high in the midnight sky. They were at the bridge where the digimon was attacking. The destruction was gone. Everything was fixed, of course, and the streets were empty. Squeezing Rika's hand, Davis got a fleeting thought of staying in the digital world forever one day; in paradise. He quickly shook the thought aside. He couldn't let his parents down like that, but at least they had a haven if something happened to earth. The kids, anyway. It was half-comforting. The group said their good-byes and drifted to their homes, ready to go to class tomorrow, and Davis fixed Rika with a hesitant look.

Rika paused and looked at Davis, Renamon right beside her. Rika threw her arms around Davis. "I'll be at school tomorrow" she murmured, pressing her lips against his cheek. She pulled away slightly and grinned.

Davis laughed, "Ok. I'll see you then," He pressed his lips to her's gently, brushing his fingertips over her cheek.

Rika returned the kiss gentlly and pulled back. "See ya tomarrow then" she said. Her and Renamon turned to go home.

Davis smiled and turned the other direction, gliding back to his house. He slipped into his window and collapsed into bed.

Rika fell onto her bed after telling mom ten times she was fine and curled in a ball. Renamon laid down next to her and instantly fell asleep. Rika could still feel the touch of Davis' lips on hers as she drifted to sleep.

Davis dreamt of sitting in a completely white place with a glass wall in front of him. He saw Rika come from nowhere and sit on the other side of him. Trying to speak to her, she just shook her head. She couldn't hear him. He scratched his head and snapped his fingers, opening his palm. Two peices of charcoal lay in resting there. He tossed a peice over to her and wrote on the wall, Can you write?

Rika's dream swirled around with people, most of them faceless. Renamon was right beside her, guiding her through them. No noise came from anywhere, almost like she was deaf.

Rika smiled and wrote on the wall, Of course. Duh. Davis rolled his eyes and wrote again, Can you draw? She sketched herself on a stool with a coffee mug in her hands in a tank top and shorts and wrote beside it, Yes He smiled and sketched himself leaning against a wall reading a comic book in jeans and a t-shirt, Me too Rika drew a fat blob with arms, legs, and a squat frog-face with the tounge sticking out. She wrote beside it, You Davis laughed. It was silent, of course, but it warmed his heart anyway. He drew a fire-breathing dragon with a princess cap on in a frilly dress, You!

Waking up, Rika stretched widly. She looked over at the window, surprised that the sun was up already. She felt like she just fell asleep. Yawning, she stood up and started getting dressed.

Rika made a face and Davis grinned. Piss off, She wrote. Only if you go first, he joked back. Rika rolled her eyes. Davis's grin vanished, I want to be with you, he scribbled. Rika smiled, You are with me. Only there's this glass between us. Davis thrust his chrcoal into his pocket angrily and got up, smashing at the glass with his fists. No! She mouthed, pressing her palms to the glass. Don't! Davis cracked the glass and motioned for her to get out of the way, fire burning in his eyes. She ducked aside as his fist connected with the crack, shattering it into a thousand peices. Truimph flashed across his face for a split second - then it happened. The glass, forced out of reality's position, tried desperately to get back into place; going through his hand to do so. He didn't cry out or scream but the pain was there. His fist came crashing back through the now spotless glass wall as if he'd never hit it, hand destroyed. A black out.
Davis's eyes fluttered open and he blinked. He was home, in his bed. Oh,crap, school! He shot out of bed, forgetting the dream, and dressed quickly. Grabbing his backpack and a peice of toast, he was out the door in minutes.

Rika grabbed a cereal bar and ran out the house, her backpack bouncing against her thigh. Not even bothering with sidewalks, she jumped over a few fences and low walls. She usually went the way no one wanted her to go. As she walked on campus, her eyes instantl searched for Davis.

Davis scrambled onto campus and sat down at a bench near the fountain. He swallowed his mast mouthful of toast and looked around. No body paid any attention to him accept for one person. His face lit up as he rose, gliding through the crowds to get a better view of her, climbing into a tree. He peered down at Rika, grinning, and leapt down, landing silently in a crouch behind her. Standing slowly, he reached out and grabbed her from behind, spinning her around and kissing her.

Rika squeaked a bit in surprise but returned Davis' kiss. Her face lit up and her mood when from bored to happy. "Morning." she said, pulling away a bit so she could breath.

Davis's smile faded as the dream came back to him in a flash, and he looked down at his left writing hand, in a sort of trance.
