Davis caught sight of Rika and shouted, darting from his hiding place and patting out the fire on her clothes. He picked her up in his arms and ran back to Ken, setting her down, "Stay here with her; I'm gonna go help Devi Veemon."

Renamon used Diamond Strom, this time taking out two of the Candlemon. One of the others hit her in the side with a fireball. She made herslef get closer to one and used Wisteria Punch. "Get away from me." she muttered, jumping back and landing in the sand.

Davis leapt from a high boulder and kicked at the candlemon, growling like a dog, "Stay away from my friends!" Devi Veemon sent blue fireballs over the rest of the candlemon until they were all running for thier lives, and he went over to help Renamon up, "You ok?" He asked in his rough voice as Davis dusted himself off.

"I'm fine." Renamon said before she jumped back to where Rika was. The other boy, Ken, was with her. Rika was still breathing but there was a burn on her arm that would take some time to heal. Renamon took the backpack off of her and opened it, trying to find some of the bandages that Rika had put in there, not tha she had needed them before now. Her claws cut through the bag a bit.

Davis took the bag from the digimon and took out a bottle of cold water and burn heal cream. He poured the water over Rika's burn and dabbed at it with a tissue, spreading the cream over the big round welt and bandaging it, "She'll take a few days to heal; not long, but it'll hurt for awhile." He mumbled, setting about to picking her up, "We better get out of here before more show up," he turned to Renamon, "Where does she live? I'll take Rika home."

Ken gather Warmon in his arms. Lookin out into the emprt grey sky, his eyes glassed over, "Here comes good bye..." He whispered.

Rika winced in her sleep. Renamon shook her head. "I'll take her home. Her mother told me to keep her safe." she said, picking Rika up gentlly.

Davis nodded, taking Ken's arm, "We'll go look for the bad guys. Meet us here."

Renamon nodded and started for Rika's home. Her steps were quiet and even though she barley moved her arms, Rika's eyes snapped open. "Put me down Renamon." she said, they hadn't even gotted to the rift. Renamon did, but only because she didn't want Rika mad at her. "We're not leaving, I don't care what condition I'm in. Now let's figure out what we came here to figure out."

Davis walked with purpose, arms swinging at his sides and fists clenched, "We'll find them. Devi Veemon!" He called, and his digimon appeared at his side. Ken and Davis climbed onto his back and the digimon bounded in the direction the candlemon came from.

Rika started walking, being stubborn as heck. Renamon was right behind her. Davis and Ken were right in front of her, so she decided to go with them.

Davis stopped short, turning to see Rika following. A smile broke across his lips and was gone, "Your coming now, huh?"

"Yes, but only because I have a feeling you two are going to get yourselves into trouble." she growled, clenching her fist.

Davis waited for Rika to catch up and fell into pace beside her, "Your burn ok?" He asked, Devi Veemon letting Ken and Warmon ride on his back.

"Yes, I don't feel a thing wrong with it." Rika said, lying smoothly. In all reality, it hurt like heck, but she wasn't going to admit that. Renamon stepped up with Ken.

Davis jerked his chin up, hopping agily over a boulder in his path as they neared caves, "Good. Don't want you to slow us down," he said, lying smoothly himself. He knew she was valuable and to tell the truth he liked her spunk; but making her work a bit harder to keep up with him never hurt anyone.

Rika jumped over, not even touching the boulder. "Wouldn't break a sweat to keep up with you. Just hope you can keep up with me." she said. Her arm was limb at her side.

Davis's eyes glanced at her arm and he eased up a bit. No need for her to suffer; even he wasn't that cruel. "So, any hunch on who this guy is?" He asked her, climbing over a few more rocks to the mouth of a tall pile.

Rika shrugged. She sped up just a bit, making her steps a half step in front of Davis. "Let's just hope my wound is the worst we get." she said, putting her handin her pocket.

Davis matched Rika's pace easily in exact stride with her, his pride not able to let him lose to a girl, "..." He thrust out his arm suddenly, making her run into it as a boulder came flying out of a nearby cave and grazed her nose. Catching her before se fell on the rocks, he tugged her out of harm's way, grasp firm but gentle, "What the Hell?!" He mumbled.

Renamon jumped back and used Diamond storm as another boulder came, almost hitting her. "Leomon." she said, her voice calm. "Get Rika out of here. I'll take care of him." she said.

Davis nodded, and he grabbed Rika's hand, taking off across the rocks to get away from the flinging boulders He jerked her behind a huge boulder ad ducked down, crouching beside the girl as she sank to her knees, "Sorry, but I don't think you can fight giant rocks any better then I can," he apologized roughly, peering around the rock.

Rika glared at the rock, almost wanting to growl. "I don't care." she said, still glaring but not meaning it.

Davis turned back to Rika, gripping her wrist and jerknig her again so he was nose to nose with her, "Do you want to die?" He asked, fire in his eyes and strength in his grip.
