Rika grimanced. "Don't comment. It's not worth it Rika." Renamon said, jumping over the water, not even going into the water.

Davis made sure to keep a firm grip on Rika as they darted back onto land and back on the candlemon's trail, straying from the wrapping on her arm. They ducked behind a clump of bushes and the two teens slid down, crouching together and peering out at the black hole in the ground where the digimon disappeared into. Davis glanced at Rika's arm and noticed it was trembling, "Rika," he whispered. "don't make yourself suffer. Running around with a burn on your arm must hurt." He said, sincere. His eyes were warm and wrried.

Rika shook her head. "I'm fine. It doesn't hurt anymore." she said, which was true.
She couldn't feel it anymore, which was better then it hurting.

Davis looked away silently, "I'm going to see what the Hell is down there," he said to her, disappearing out over the clearing to the hole. Standing at it's edge, he frowned down into the darkness. "Can't see," he called back. "I'll be down if anyone wants to come along." Then he jumped.

Rika followed him, and motioned for Renamon to stay where she was. Her feet landed siletly next to him. "Way too dark for us to see." she said.

Davis turned to her, "You sure? It could be a long way down." When he saw the look on her face, he flashed a crooked smile. "Ready to jump?" He asked, holding out his hand for hers.

Rika took his hand and jumped, loving the wind through her hair.

Davis felt his feet hit dirt and the shock was absorbed by his bent knees. Straighrening up and shaking his head to clear it, he looked around a bit. there were tunnels all around them, dimly lit with small lanturns, explaining their lack of sight from above, and they seemed to be carved by something very inprecise - like teeth. Davis looked over at Rika, "Eenie meenie minie moe?" He suggested.

Davis' smile flickered again and he started off, still grasping her hand, "Middle one it is, then," he said to her as the shadows fell over them.

Rika took a glowstick out of her pocket and bit it, making it glow a subtle green. "This should help."

Davis shrugged, "Dark or light; either is fine with me," he said, tipping his chin up to look at the high ceiling. "Whatever made this tunnel must be huge."

"And stunk." Rika said, grimancing. "It smells like a hippo decided to poop in here."

Davis made a face, "Yuck, you're right," he said, an laughed a bit. It was weird walking somewhere you didn't even know where you were going with someone you just met. Like taking a big step foward into the dark and just hoping there's something there to hold you up.

Rika faught the urge to look over at Davis. She had no clue why she wanted to, but she wasn't going to give into it. Her eyes stayed locked forward and she heard something further on in the tunnel. It sounded like someone was growling. "Looks like we found someone." she muttered.

Davis squeezed Rika's hand and drifed to the side of the tunnel, pressing his back to the moist wall, both of them peering into a wide room filled with long glass tubes - an inside were digidestined from all over the world. Davis's heart almost stopped. Their digi-vices were gripped in their hands, like death couldn't pry it away, and there were digimon frozen in glass cubes under each tamer. We need our digimo," he breathed to Rika, overcomwith the sudden instinct to get her as far from here as possible.

Rika nodded and put the glow stick back in her pocket so people couldn't see it. "You go on ahead. I want to see somthing first." she said, pulling away from him and easily going into the room unnoticed.

Davis almost shouted for her to come back, but shrank away as a tall man walked by in a labcoat. He stood there shaking for a second, not from fear of these people, but for fear of Rika's safety, but turned eventually and fetched their digimon as fast as he could.

Rika slunk to the back of the room and saw a huge Digimon that she had never seen. "Who the heck?" she thougt.

Davis appeared at her side and yanked her into the shadows as another man in a long white coat slid passed, pressing her to the cave wall with his hands dug into the dirt at her sides in anger, "Be more careful," he hissed. "These people don't play around in here. They have digimon who could snap you in half like a twig, and I don't want to lose you, ok?" Catching himself, he stopped, heart beat throbbing in his ears as he looked back and forth between her eyes, "I..." Sliding away from her in embarassment, he looked away to the tunnel door where their digimon were waiting to hide the red in his face, "We have to get back to them, then we can make a plan."

Rika nodded and started walking towards Renamon. Her face was grim, which made Rika jump slightly.

Renamon wrapped and arm around Rika. "Don't scare me like that. Your mother told me to keep you safe, how amI to do that when you walk around on your own?" she said. "Sorry Renamon." Rika said quietly.

Davis smiled gently as he came up behind them and Devi Veemon appeared at his side, but it soon vanished as he turned his gaze back over the underground labratory. He spotted the candlemon from before getting patched up b a few scientists from the battle and frowned, "Strange. Evil workers don't usually heal their sick or wounded."

Rika followed Davis' gaze and scowled. "Guys, you're gonna hate me for this, but you can kill me later." she said before taking off down the tunnel and taking a different one then Renamon, Davis, and his digimon were. "Sorry, but I have to try something."
