The City of Silicon: Vampires and Werewolves

Ash sighed, running his hands through his hair, "Not my fault," he muttered teasingly, leaning his head back.

"Not their's either." she retorted, growling when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Looking over, she saw one of the football players, who was also the Alpha's son. "What do you want Rex?" she growled, flinching away from his touch and wincing at the pain that shot through her side with the movement.

Ash batted their hands away and hissed, fangs threateningly gleaming behind a pulled back lip, "What do you want, cods?" He demanded moodily.

Lucia put her hand on Ash's to try and calm him. "It's alright." she murmured. "Can I have a word with you in private Lucia?" Rex asked, glowering at Ash. "Whatever you have to say, you can say in front of Ash." she growled. "But not in front of them." the werewolf said, motioning to the humans.

The hair on the back of Ash's neck stood on end, "We'll go with you," he whispered. "if you tell us whats going on."

Lucia stood, wincing a bit. They followed Rex out to the hallway and leaned against the wall to take the weight off her side. "What's going on Rex? The Alpha die?" Lucia said, sneering a bit. "No. I wanted to warn you that there are still werewolves out there who know Dad and are loyal to him. I heard him talking about you to someone on the phone before I left." Rex said, sounding scared.

Ash scowled, "We're leaving the dome today at noon. They won't be able to get us out there; adults who passed up their own leaving aren't allowed out."

"I meant outside the dome vampire." Rex said vampire like it was a dirty word. "Hey, keep the tone." Lucia warned. "Anyway, I'll be fine Rex. Anyone stupid enough to mess with me will end up hurt. Your dad caught me off gaurd." sh continue.

Ash stiffened, "There are people alive outside the dome, then?" He whispered.

"Yes." Rex said before walkig back in the room. Lucia nodded thoughtfully and looked over at Ash.

Ash snapped back to reality, taking her hand gently, "Lets go," he mumbled. "the ceremony starts soon."

Lucia touched her lips to Ash's cheek and grinned. "It'll be okay Ash. You'll see." she murmured.

Ash sighed, "I sure hope so." They were swept with the crowd onto stage where they sat on different ends of the line of chairs, forced to keep their feeet planted on the wood stage. Ash was itching to get back to Lucia, but he was also fourth in line, which meant he could take Lucia up with him in the upper ranks of the migration crowd.

Lucia shivered, glad she was at the end of the row. Flicking her braid over her shoulder, she played with the end of it. "Calm down girl, it's not gonna last forever." she murmured, trying to stop shaking.

Ash almost leapt out of his chair and grabbed his degree, but he stood calmly and accepted it without expression, nodding slightly before heading to sit in the crowd. He looked about anxiously for any werewolves.

Lucia smiled slightly as she accepted her degree and walked to the crowd, moving towards her vampire.

Ash held out his hand for her and helped her sit beside him, taking her hand and squeezsing it with an encouraging smile.

Lucia grinned in response to Ash's smile and stuck her tongue out a bit "That wasn't as bad as I thought." she murmured.

Ash grinned, pulling her down beside him, "No, not at all." He whispered over the shuffling of feet.

Lucia sniffed, catching the whiff of Rex. Turning her head slightly, she saw the werewolf satring at her. "What?" she mouthed. He shook his head and turned away.

Ash bared his fangs at Rex but the werewolf wasn't looking. Tightening his grip on Lucia, he huffed, tensing, "I don't like this atmosphere," he muttered.

"Who does? It's making my hair stand on end." Lucia said, letting herself lean more against the chair. Her wound was sapping her energy.

Ash stood with the rest of his classmates, carrying Lucia in the slow line all the way back to the dressing rooms. He set her down gently at the girls door, kissed her forehead, and was swept up in the horde ofm guys trying to get back to their families.

Lucia walked into the dressing room and went to the small area she had been earlier. Slipping off the robe, she winced and wrapped an arm around herself. Someone's hand gripped her shoulder. "Lucia, you okay?" a teacher's voice said. Lucia looked at her and nodded. "Yes I'm fine. Now p[lease, leave me." she said in a breathy voice. Running, she went to the bathroom. Crumpling against the cool wall, she put her head between her knees. Her side was beyond hurting, it burned.

Ash was dressed quickly, tugging on his black t-shirt and jeans, and a bad feeling made him tremble violently, until he shook it off with effort. Lucia...? He swung around and bolted from the mens dressing room and had his hand on the doorknob to the girls when a male teacher grabbed his wrist and tugged it away, yanking him back slightly, "What in blazes are you doing?!" He scolded. Ash blinked in suprise, then glanced up at the 'women's sign on the door. Oops. "My girlfriend is hurt." He said simply, strainingly. "What? She'll be fine, just go outside and wait for her." Ash tensed. He didn't want to leave her, but they'd both be in deep trouble if he went in there. Crap. Like a good little boy, he slouched back to the lounge to wait for Lucia pacing nervously.
