The City of Silicon: Vampires and Werewolves

Ash leaned over and kissed Lucia's cheek, "I hate seeing you being punished for something so trvial," he wispered in her ear, nose pressed into her hair.

Lucia nuzzled Ash's cool neck. "The pack always comes first." she muttered, repeating the thing her mother always joked.

"I can see that. You're so responsible, it's hard not to feel like it's my fault you keep breaking rules." Ash said, turing her chin to face him. He locked lips with her again, caressing her hot cheek with cold fingertips.

Lucia reurned the kiss softly and pulled back regretfully. "I'll be back in a few." she whispered, not letting her fight with herself show.

Ash let his arm slip from around her and hid in his bangs, "I have to go too," he said. "my little brother Troy needs to be taught how to hide his blood packets. Night." He glided to the opn balcony door, and without a glance back, he vanished into the night.

Lucia shifted forms and took off to her pack, her blood singing from Ash. She ran right to where she knew the Alpha would be. His tan fur was bristled. Great....

Ash met his little brother at his parents' home, where he tutored him in the ways of concealing the blood he needed to drink once a week, then retired to the streets. He walked steadily down the dark roads, as it was nearly midnight, black converse tapping the empty asphalt.

Lucia was right. She had to go get some meat for the pups. so she took off and hunted down a couple of cats that were starys. they liked them for some reason.

Ash stopped to pet a dalmation puppy in a box on the side of a store building that read 'Free To Good Home.' He picked her up and cradled the baby dog in his arms, letting it's warm tounge lick his face and whimper as he tossed the box in recycling and went into one of the 24 hour pharmacies. After a minute, he came out with a nice violet collar ingraved with a name, a leash, and a bag of puppy chow, heading home to his appartment.

Lucia shifted human after giving the pups their food and sat in the middle of the grass that was inbetween the two areas, vamp and werewolf. She let both smells awirl around her, loving the night air. the alpha's words echoed in her mind. Your Mother made the same mistake that you're starting to make. Look at her now. do you want to be like that? did she want to be like Mom? To not have to follow anything that a pack told her?

Ash sat on a park bench near the border of territories, cuddling the puppy as it slept in his arms, happy releif filling it's dreams. He stroaked it gently and gazed over the empty medow of grass. He new Lucia's mother wasn't much help to their relationship, but he one she' fallen for was nothing like him. Eyes tightening, he recalled her death and the hunt of both vampires and werewolves to track him down and kill him. That was thenight he was fourteen, but one year back. The puppy began to whimper, and he scratched it behind it's little black ear and it quieted down. He sighed. Life sucked here; they needed to go off as son as they turned 16.

Lucia smelled Ash a couple of miles away, but she made herself stay put. She would go see him in a min. Her mother had fallen in love with a half breed.

Ash pulled the puppy up to his chest, cradeling the warm bundle close. It was so rare he wasn't thirsty enough to swallow this thing whole, he thought he'd try adopting a pet to keep him busy.

With a sigh, Lucia stood up and ran towards where she could smell Ash. He had a puppy in his arms. She smiled and came up to them. "Cutie." she said.

Ash looked up sharply, but softened when he saw it was Lucia, smiling, "Thanks. Her name is Maryweather." The puppy blinked awake, little pink nose twitching, and pricked it's ears. Yelping happily, it jumped off his lap and bounded over to Lucia.

Lucia picked up Maryweather and scratched her ears, just like she knew she liked. the puppy's tail was wagging a mile a minute. "Good control Ash." she said sitting next to the vampire.

Ash looked at her and smiled, "Yeah, I'm trying harder now that we might be leaving soon. I don't know how long I might have to go without blood if I run out." He turned his face away again.

"Is she going to be your little protector when I'm with the pack?" Luccia asked, trying to be cheerful. She scratched the puppy's back, laughing a bit when she yipped happily. "Just like the puppy I was when i was with mom." Lucia murmured too low for Ash to hear.

Ash chuckled, "I guess so. Though I might have to protect her for a bit, until she grows up." He hung his head and crossed his arms over his chest, trying to think.

Lucia reached over and ran her hand through Ash's hair, trying to hold back from kissing him. "Like any alpha does. they protect the pups along with the rest of the pack." she said, secretly wondering if her Alpha would do the same for her. She shook her head a bit. she wouldn't need him to.

Ash smiled and squeezed her hand, dropping his arms, "Yeah. I guess." He sighed, "So, were you in loads of trouble?"

"No. Just had to get some cats for the pups." Lucia said as the puppy fell asleep again.

Ash made a face, "Eating cats is something I never got used to. Maybe when I'm desperate and the hospital's safe runs dry, but not if I had a choice." He chuckled a bit and smiled at Lucia, "With this puppy I hope to build an immunity to pets, but it might take awhile."

lucia smiled crookedly. 'You'll do fine. Now, we should get this puppy inside. she'll freeze outhere." she said, placing the sleeping puppy in the crook of her arm.

Ash stood up, "All right," he smiled. "too bad I can't feel how cold it is. That might be a problem for the pup." Sliding the leash into his pocket, he smiled at Lucia.
